ClicSÉQUR and the syndicates of co-ownership: No changes planned for the time being

In recent months, a number of government communications have referred to the introduction of the new Government Authentication Service (GAS), designed to gradually replace certain existing platforms, notably clicSÉQUR.

This announcement has raised questions in the condominium community: should syndicates anticipate a change in the way they access the Quebec government’s online services, in particular the Registraire des entreprises (REQ) ?

Key points: no change for syndicates of co-ownership

The Ministry of Cybersecurity and Digital Technology has confirmed that the Government Authentication Service (GAS) is reserved for citizen use.

« The Government Authentication Service (GAS) is currently offered to access Government online services intended for citizen customers. The “gradual transition” does not concern Government online services intended for business customers » “Consequently, there are currently no plans to withdraw clicSÉQUR – Entreprises, and if any developments are planned in this regard, information will be communicated by the Government of Quebec.»

Therefore:

  • GAS does not apply to syndicates of co-ownership
  • CliqSÉQUR – Entreprises: remains in effect
  • No short-term transition is planned for syndicates of co-ownership

Should any changes be made, the Ministry assures us that clear communication will be provided to the customers concerned.

Clicséqur – Entreprises: Still the access route for syndicates

The syndicates of co-ownership, as legal entities, must use clicSÉQUR – Entreprises to access government services, notably for:

  • Updating information with the Enterprise Register
  • Transmission of mandatory documents
  • Any other online procedure requiring official identification

To register for clicSÉQUR – Entreprises as a syndicate of co-ownership: Registration – clicSÉQUR for syndicates

In a nutshell

  • Government Authentication Service (GAS) does not replace clicSÉQUR – Entreprises
  • No change required for syndicates of co-ownership
  • Continue to use clicSÉQUR – Entreprises for your administrative procedures

This article will be updated in the event of changes or new instructions from the government.
